NJIT President and Capital One Sponsors

With support from NJIT President Altenkirch, Provost Ian Gatley, Vice President Don Sebastian and Capital One Bankers, the New Jersey Innovation Acceleration Center established the Capital One Entrepreneurial Learning Lab for NJIT Students at the Enterprise Development Center. 

Challenge Finalist Pitches Idea

Newark Innovation Acceleration Challenge finalists make a 10 minute presentation at the EDC to the judges in person followed by a Q & A session. It is at this point winners are chosen and awards distributed. In Fall 2010 five winners were chosen and received a $2000 summer fellowship from sponsors Capital One Bank to further develop their idea.

NJIT School of Management professor Michael Ehrlich is congratulating Newark Innovation Acceleration Challenge presenter Mario Rannamae on his winning presentation of a proposal to establish battery charging stations for electric automobiles.

Students Participate in Challenge

NJIT students participate in the annual Newark Innovation Acceleration Challenge sponsored by Capital One Bank. Hosted annually during the fall semester, students submit practical innovative ideas for review by a panel of judges at a chance to win a $2,000 summer fellowship from Capital One Bank to work on their idea.

Preparing Contestants for Newark Innovation Acceleration Challenge

The Newark Innovation Acceleration Challenge invites all Newark high school, college and university students to submit their early stage ideas for new businesses.  Judges from Capital One Bank screen applicants to determine the finalists who will present.  Here one of the judges is discussing the scoring rubric with finalists.
